Commercial Description:
This is a nice straw colored extra pale ale with floral hop aromas. The flavor profile includes light grainy/nutty malt character, followed by a lingering aftertaste of sweet maltiness. Very refreshing! This beer goes well with creamy and spicy foods.

Pale tan colour, sedimented. The aroma is phenolic (cologne) and leathery. Sweetish taste, with cologne and pine notes, wheaty acidity and spice. It’s a light, refreshing, and a little bit crazy. Finish is too watery unfortunately.

660 ml bottle. Cloudy golden orange beer with a thin white head and a bit of lacing. Honeyish aroma with prominent floral character. Flavour is interesting and seems to have a bit of brett funkiness. Palate is quite watery though with a bit of acetic sourness. Very floral. An interesting, is not entirely successful brew.

Golden color, light head, no lacing. Nose of light banana and wheat malts. Light body and underhopped. A bit of light sweet husky malts. Not much flavor but creamy, balanced, easy to drink, lightly bacterial sourness.

22oz bottle. Orange gold color. Small sized white foamy head. Aroma is floral and citrusy. A light to medium bodied ale. Malts are fruity, bready and sweet. Hops are floral and citrusy. It a touch thin and there is a flavor that I can’t identify at all. Light and refreshing, there is a touch of a sour/ musty funkiness. Interesting…, but weird. Not sure if it’s the floral or herbal qualities, but it is a weird beer. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

(22 oz bottle: $3.29 at Bottleworks in Seattle, WA) This beer smells and tastes musty and sour with hints of fruit and a watery palate. I’ll go ahead and call this yet another infected bottle from Hood Canal Brewery. So far I’m 4 for 4 on getting infected bottles from this place. Hey, you gotta admire consistency!

A sweet aroma that kind ofreminds me of a cream ale, as it seems as if there is some corn in there. A light golden ale appearance with a small head. Very acidic taste, but strangely, not in a bad way. This is followed by some sweet maltiness that might be like a flavor found in a light pale ale. It is not a bad ale, but it really doesnt do much for me. I like their Amber ale alot more.

On tap at Crabhouse, Port Angeles. Mild hops aroma, just a bit of orange essence and graininess. Hazy medium amber with thin white lacing head. Medium bodied with heavy carbonation. Mild grain taste, with just a bit of bitter orange peel. Dry, with mild bitter finish and clean after.

Bottle from Town and Country Grocery Store, Bainbridge Island, WA. Pours a listless gold with an uninspired and bored head. Aroma is tart and sweet citrus, with bits of spice thrown in. Not bad. Flavor is sweet vegetable (brocolli immediately comes to mind) and tart malt, with hints of strawberry and orange in the background. Palate is thicker than it pours. Very crisp and light. Not bad at all. Would make a lovely session beer.
