Oakes (8057), gone rambling, Vietnam Feb 27, 2005 Pale tan colour, sedimented. The aroma is phenolic (cologne) and leathery. Sweetish taste, with cologne and pine notes, wheaty acidity and spice. It’s a light, refreshing, and a little bit crazy. Finish is too watery unfortunately. Angeloregon (2024), Portland, Oregon, USA Aug 1, 2008 On tap at the brewery in Kingston, WA--(I am pretty certain this is not a spice/herb/vegetable beer) Poured a light golden-straw body with a medium white head. The least offensive beer in the tasting tray. Grainy and mildly fruity nose with a sharply carbonic floral crisp and dry body. Finished clean and sessionable. jigglyjock (159), Seattle, Washington, USA Feb 23, 2009 I am perplexed by this beer. I tasted it first and came to ratebeer looking for the style of this beer and thought for sure it was a saison. I can not imagine this beer being anything else. It is unfiltered, with a light orange body, heavily carbonated, and larged bubbled, quickly diminishing, white head. The smells like a typical belgian sour ale with components of sweet candy apples, oranges, and a slight white pepper. It tastes like a light belgian sour as well. It has a slight sweet/sour thing going on with components of sour orange and lemons as well as a slight tannic graininess. The body is very light and watery with prickly carbonation. Overall, a very unexpected beer. KAggie97 (2406), Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring, Texas, USA Jun 18, 2006 Bottle from Town and Country Grocery Store, Bainbridge Island, WA. Pours a listless gold with an uninspired and bored head. Aroma is tart and sweet citrus, with bits of spice thrown in. Not bad. Flavor is sweet vegetable (brocolli immediately comes to mind) and tart malt, with hints of strawberry and orange in the background. Palate is thicker than it pours. Very crisp and light. Not bad at all. Would make a lovely session beer. beerguy101 (3861), Newark, California, USA Aug 24, 2005 22oz bottle. Orange gold color. Small sized white foamy head. Aroma is floral and citrusy. A light to medium bodied ale. Malts are fruity, bready and sweet. Hops are floral and citrusy. It a touch thin and there is a flavor that I can’t identify at all. Light and refreshing, there is a touch of a sour/ musty funkiness. Interesting…, but weird. Not sure if it’s the floral or herbal qualities, but it is a weird beer. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is slightly bitter. BückDich (4780), McCall, Idaho, USA Oct 13, 2005 Golden color, light head, no lacing. Nose of light banana and wheat malts. Light body and underhopped. A bit of light sweet husky malts. Not much flavor but creamy, balanced, easy to drink, lightly bacterial sourness. Wow what a fun and great beer to drink. Amber in color with a thin head. I was not sure what this was as for style and after drinking it was ore of an amber than a spiced brew. The spices where subtle yet there but not a huge beer. Would be a everyday easy drinking amber beer. It was however very tasty. JoeMcPhee (4893), Jackson Heights, New York, USA Feb 27, 2005 660 ml bottle. Cloudy golden orange beer with a thin white head and a bit of lacing. Honeyish aroma with prominent floral character. Flavour is interesting and seems to have a bit of brett funkiness. Palate is quite watery though with a bit of acetic sourness. Very floral. An interesting, is not entirely successful brew.
