Dec 10, 2008 Apple aromas, sweet malts, hints of caramel in the nose. Pours an amber brown with no head. Roasted malts, sweet caramel, with a balancing hop bitterness, there is a nice earthiness to it. Not bad, but nothing to bring me back to it.

Dec 7, 2008 12oz bottle-pours a foamy light tan head and brown color with red tint. Aroma is medium/dark malt-chocolate, molasses, dark fruit. Taste is husky medium/dark malt-chocolate, molasses, dark fruit, secondary earthy hops. OK carbonation. Dry finish. Thanks jwc215 for picking this out.

Poured clear brown color with a large white head that diminished slowly with good lacing. Moderate toasted nutty aroma. Medium body with soft carbonation. Medium toasted malty flavor with a medium toasted sweet finish of moderate duration.
Good session brew and best of the three that I tasted.

Dec 1, 2008 Got this one in a sampler pack. I was impressed with this beer. The color and falvor was what I’d expect from a brown ale. Sweet and easy to drink.

Dec 1, 2008 12 ounce bottle from a sampler. Pours a dark reddish brown color with a small head, low head retention and not much lacing. Somewhat fruity aroma with roasted malt characteristics. Taste is nutty roasted malts with a slightly fruity finish. Medium bodied. Not bad.

Nov 30, 2008 Very good.....rich roasted malt flavor...smooth finish. Won the 2008 Washington Post Beer Madness Championship, which is a big deal considering that breweries like Magic Hat, Dogfish Head, and Brooklyn Brewery were all in the race.

Nov 29, 2008 Brown with a thin tan head. Aroma of nuts and caramel. Taste of nuts, caramel and light toasted malt. A bit thin and watery. Nice that they donate proceeds on this one.
