| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 10, 2009 Presentation: It was poured from a brown 12oz bottle into a pint glass.
Appearance: It has a deep dark amber colored body with good clarity. The head is small and fades out quickly leaving no lacing behind.
Smell: The aroma is light with some light hints of sweet caramel malts.
Taste/Mouth feel: The overall flavor has a mild sweet malty character with a touch of caramel and some light spicy/leafy hops for balance. The hops come in more towards the finish of this medium bodied brew. The mouth feel is well rounded, smooth with a light balance of carbonation.

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 18, 2009 Pours a reddish brown crested by a huge foaming light tan head. Aroma is hops with a hint of cream. Taste is malt, carmel, chicory and coffee. Not overly carbonated and thin on the viscosity meter. No noticable aftertaste. A rather average Irish ale but nonetheless a good companion to a light lunch, snacks or shepherds pie. Elwood (684), Leesburg, Virginia, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 23, 2009 12 oz. bottle. Pours a nice amber color with a foamy white head. The head subsides leaving behind good lacing. Malt, caramel, and a little wet cardboard in the nose. Medium carbonation with a medium light mouthfeel. Bits of wood, smoke, light brown sugar, and just a touch of bitterness on the palate. The malt lingers awhile on the tongue. It says it has a smooth dry finish, but I seem to be missing the dry. Good drinkability. I would be willing to sit around and have a few of these. Gypsy19 (657), California, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Mar 16, 2009 Pours a deep amber with a smaller head. Aroma is dull, though malts are detectable. Flavor is mostly malty, with a little generic fruitiness in the body. Not bad. I can dig it. Overall, good. Derek881 (502), Frederick, Maryland, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 15, 2009 Poured this beer from the bottle into a pint glass to drink. It had a clear copper to dark-amber color with a big foamy white head that had long retention and average cling. The beer had a grainy and earthy hop aroma with some barley and caramel malt. The taste was a somewhat sour earthy-rye taste with some sweetness and a bit of bitterness too. It had a decent fizz and was a bit thin and light, slightly on the dry side.
