ALLOVATE (1127), Perth, Australia Aug 18, 2006 Cask, handpump @ the Hook Norton brewery. Shared a pint with a bloke I mistook for the brewer, turned out to be the lorry driver. Nice chap though.
Bright yellowy gold with a little carbonation showing and a big, messed up, frothy white head that retained well and legged down the pint. Heady aroma of pale honey, ripe, spicy oranges, pine nuts and lemon peel. Very similar in the mouth, quite nutty and malty; dry overall but layered by fruit peel and citrus flavours that bite at the inner lining of the mouth. Bitter on the swallow, quite flowery in the finish and again dry making it quite a refreshing ale. Body is medium-light and it bounced across the palate with ease. Very easy to drink. Now I know why the lorry driver was so fond of it. Cheers!!! DJMonarch (4091), Northwich, Cheshire, England May 8, 2006 Cask Handpump at the Crown Inn, Oakengates 28/04/2006
Slight citrus aroma. Golden coloured and hoppy. Crisp and slightly creamy on the palate with some bitterness in a lasting malt finish. Pub (4117), Banbury, Oxfordshire, England May 7, 2006 Cask conditioned at The Coachmans Rest (The Shed), Enstone, Oxon. Gold coloured with pale head. Richly hopped and dry beer, plenty of geen leafy resinous hop notes with a sweet tinge. Lacks a little body, lightly malted and quite crisp. Nice finish. Get it while you can.
