Commercial Description:
Bottled; Pasteurised.
The latest thoroughbred from The Hook Norton stable. Hooky Dark is a dark chestnut coloured ale. Crammed full of roast malt flavours, it is complimented with superb dry hop aromas derived from the choicest East Kent Goldings.

Sweet malt aroma. Dark brown red clear colour with poor head and lacing. Malt flavour with sweet aftertaste. Flat palate.

Bottled, pasteurised, 500ml. Dark brown with cream, but short lived, head. Strangely I found the bottled version to have a stronger roasted nutty flavour than the cask, still hoppy bitter on the finish giving the impression that the beer is a mix. A good bottled beer though.

A mild with hints of chocolate and toffee with more than an overtone of maltiness. A beer more apreciated during warm summer days in a North Oxfordshire pub garden. Not the best but most certainly not the worst.
