bembelembe (150), Zagreb, Croatia Jun 19, 2008 Fresh and light. Hoppy flavour, smooth. Earth and fruity notes. Medium-low in bitterness. Bit watery. Golden color, low in carbonation, medium head. Enjoyable but bit sticky-sweet aftertaste. Very drinkable. heemer77 (4294), Savannah, Missouri, USA Jun 19, 2008 Dark gold ornage body with a large, lightly off white head. The aroma has some definite fresh wort and malty backbone. There is also some earthy cellar and tea. The taste has fresh bread dough and apple cores. There is also some earhty vegetable in the finish. Dry throughout and a little boring. Ernest (4481), Boulder, Colorado, USA Jun 8, 2008 Bottle. Head is initially average sized, frothy, white, mostly diminishing. Body is dark yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), lightly hoppy (flowers, apricot), with a light note of butter. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter, slightly unclean. Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Dull. nuplastikk (1157), Madison, Wisconsin, USA May 24, 2008 500ml bottle. Golden straw colored beer, a little hazy. Creamy and smooth while retaining an earthy, mildly spicy, hop character. Fruity yeast esters and a light touch of golden honey make this one a perfect English session beer. Excellent stuff. johndoughty (2150), cheslyn hay, West Midlands, England May 24, 2008 Orange with low carbonation. Citrus and hops combine to produce a slightly bitter and pleasant ale. 17thfloor (1402), Chicago, Illinois, USA May 21, 2008 [Green bottle says "Hooky Gold"] Pours cloudy dark golden with a large frothy creamy white head. Sour wet bread aroma with a slight hop bite. Very sweet first taste, a little bit funky, actually quite funky, some butterscotch and definite noble hops. Some yeasty sourness. Not as complete focused as their other brews. Same great hooky body, except it doesn’t fit this beer like the others. Slightly creamy and very mellow soft carbonation. PorterPounder (3131), Tallahassee, Florida, USA May 18, 2008 Savannah, Ga. - Habersham Beverage Warehouse; 500 ml bottle. Medium copper colored pour, off white head - long lasting, good retention. Aroma of grain with some lemony accents. Flavor has a nice subtle bitterness to it with some citrus notes and a buttery back end. Hints of spice throughout - not sure which exact one. Clean even, mouthfeel. Overall, very decent. LouieDog40oz (28), Germantown, Maryland, USA May 17, 2008 Better then the bitter by a little based on my palate but still not anything special just another wussy British ale
