A well balanced and full bodied beer demonstrating fruitiness, with the Crystal Malt content being distinctive. The hoppy mouth gives way to a sweeter finish.

A good robust brew, not too disimilar to the cask version if my memory serves correct! Lovely fruity/malty palate, with a good finish.Guest ale,Morrison,£1.59.

Bottle, Thrrshers, Aughton. Thought he played bass for New Order?? This was deeply average and dull and not worth dwelling on really.

15 Apr 2006 - Sweet malt hop aroma. Amber-brown colour, good head and suds lacing. Sweet malt with big vegetable hop flavour. Hoppy finish and vegetable aftertaste.

I don't know, something is missing from this beer. It could use more hops or something. Not a good beer.

Tasted 18/12/2006 (in lieu of an 1812). 500ml bottle from RW&S, Wellington. Deep copper, pretty bright, off-white head. Toffee, golding fruit notes and subtle esters on the nose. Solid through the mouth - nice toasty crystal flavour, quite fresh - with a good medium bitterness in the end and some more caramel notes on the palate. Good, well-travelled and very very English.

Pours a nice clear ruby/brown color with a bit of a white head. A little malt on the nose, but not much. A little bitter on the first taste, but smooths right out although it’s a little bitter on the back end as well. Not bad, not great. Pretty decent ESB.
