Bottled. Pasteurised.
A well balanced and full bodied beer demonstrating fruitiness, with the Crystal Malt content being distinctive. The hoppy mouth gives way to a sweeter finish.

(Bottled) Deep, dark reddish amber color with a smallish, tanned head. Mild, toffee-caramely aroma with berry and metal hints. Distinctively berryish, sweetish-caramely flavor with a lingering, smoothly bitter finish, and a hint of licorice and roasted malt. Medium-bodied, slicky and very smooth palate with soft carbonation. Very smooth and easily drinkable, even balanced and pleasant brew in its own ways - it’s just not interesting for someone looking for that something special. Perfect for a dark beer novice, looking for the next step after Kilkenny and Dark Velko.

Amber with off white head. Malty caramel with fruity tones. Ok body with overall moderate taste. Pleasant slight bitter end. Simple but quite drinkable!

Bottle. Golden, small head. Has a fruity aroma, and fruit is there in the flavor as well. Sweetish and a little dry.

Bottle from SH Jones, Bicester, 29-09-07 Pours dark amber with white head. Some dark fruits gently waft in the aroma which is mainly sweet malts. Tastes fruity, but darker fruits, some dried plums maybe and plenty of soft caramel, finishes with hoppy bitterness.

bottle from Waitrose Sidmouth. Clear chestnut/amber colour with a mid-sized off-white head. Malty, slightyl fruity with a hoppy touch. Old Hooky reminded me of a German Dunkel.

Bottle. Small sized off-white head that was creamy and smooth with fine-small sized bubbles. Carbonated, transparent and an orange hue. Malty, hoppy and fruity aroma. Light bitter, malty and hoppy flavor. Mouthfeel was smooth and dry. Fair lacing. Recommended.
