Commercial Description:
Bottled. Pasteurised.
A well balanced and full bodied beer demonstrating fruitiness, with the Crystal Malt content being distinctive. The hoppy mouth gives way to a sweeter finish.

Ruby red beer with a good bitter style head. Smooth to drink but lacks the extra floral aroma and flavours to make it special.

Bottled(500ml). -Clear amber coloured, medium sized off-white head, caramel nose. Moderate malty, fruity and light herbal with nutty and almond notes. Also touch of toffee. Quite dry finish.

I like most things about Old Hooky, including the label, the name and the delightful corner of England where it’s made. Hook Norton is a great beer place to visit. The colour is attractive, as is the white head. Excellent balance between the initial sweet, caramel flavour and the solid bitter finish.

Dark brown colored, little light brown head. Aroma has obvious black currant with licorice, sweetness and chocolate. Interesting and not very usual aroma for ESB. Medium bodied. Flavor is strongly fruity with licorice and some sourness, aftertaste lasts with fruits, currant and bitterness.

Bottled. Bronze colour, good but shortlived head, moderate prickle of fine condition. Complex and chewy aromas (if that’s possible) of sweet caramel, toffee and peppery hop. Toffee and burnt sugar with a tingle of hop in the mouth and a faint roastiness saved itself for the finish, mingling well with the toffee and caramel.

Amber colour, small white creamy head. Aroma of grapefruit, pepper and caramel. taste of nuts, sweet fruit and toffee. Quite hoppy finish. A well-crafted beer but it's quite thin overall.

Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. Pours with a small white head and a hazed orange body. Aroma of estery English yeast, caramel and berries. Taste is yeasty, with honey and a lot of sweetness. Watery mouthfeel, light carbonation.

Pours darker amber with a soft tan head. Toasted malts with a soft fruity hop finish. Lightly mineral quality to the palate. I enjoyed the flavor to this, the warm caramel flavor paired nicely with the fruity finish.
