A well balanced and full bodied beer demonstrating fruitiness, with the Crystal Malt content being distinctive. The hoppy mouth gives way to a sweeter finish.

Finally I found Hook Norton and I must say it was a little disappointing. I think the trip fom the Old Dart hasn’t done it any favours. Whilst the beer is still well before the Best Before it really does seem quite subdued. Little on the nose, a slight hint of medium crystal.Hop presence barley there. The palate is harsh and hollow with little length which is a shame as I was expecting a really malty mid palate. Nice bittering to finish.

Pours a lovely copper with a inch worth of creamy foam. Aroma is fruity esters, sweet caramel malt and light hop. Flavor is initially faintly bitter that yields to ample fruity notes, sweet malt, caramel & toffee. Finishes fairly clean. Moderate body and overall a pleasant & balanced brew.

Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. light amber pour with a thin cream head. Nose of fruits and slight alcohol. Heavy fruit and bread flavor along with some alcohol.

Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. Pours a kinda hazy amber with off-white head. Aroma of some caramel, crystal malt, some hop. Flavor is very much the same with some nuttiness. Mouth feel is medium body with high carbonation. Over all, not bad!

Pours amber/red, thin off white head.
Nose is fruity and bready - a bit of cherries.
The flavour has the classic English bitter character. Bready malt, toffee, fruity hops providing a good strong balancing bitterness. A bit of spice.
Mouth filling flavour, very balanced.

Pours a nice shade of amber with a modest head... Sweet malty aroma, subtle fruitiness... Slightly fruity taste with sweet malts... Decent offering, a bit overpriced in the US....
