The taste is a nice mixture of hops and juicy malts, with more fruity notes. A very nice bitter. Beth101 (318), West Yorkshire, England

The aroma was interesting mix of nutty smoothness, grass and malt. Smooth and easy to drink, the flavor yielded more grass, toffee, nuts, floral hops, and only hints of fruity sweetness. I found this refreshing and easy to drink. A pleasant bitter for a hot summer's night. thedm (3836), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Jun 2, 2004 This bottled brew poured a medium sized head of foamy fine to large sized off-white colored mostly lasting bubbles that left behind a fair lacing. The body was a transparent softly carbonated brown color with some swirls of brown yeast in it. The aroma was mild with malty and musty notes. The mouth feel was smooth initially then melded into a tingly finish. The flavor contained notes of caramel malt and mildly bitter hops. Over-all, it was well-balanced and very drinkable. A good session brew. thebeertourist (2822), Oslo, Norway

Fruity aroma promising apples, but also some raisins and toffee.Very good raisins flavours, kept dry and bitter, despite the toffee presence. Medium to full body. Very enjoyable. Honey, tea, caramel, grapefruit. Lots more tangy hops than the cask. Less mellow creaminess and honey. Even pasteurised, something of an understated, easy-drinking yet complex classic. eczematic (1198), Sydney, Australia
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 30, 2002 Very tasty. Nice rich amber colour with creamy off-white head - like omhper says, makes a change to the flat watery stuff i’ve been accustomed to here. Flowery aromas. A light, nutty, buttery body. Big herbal hop flavours mingle with rich fruity flavours (mango, pawpaw?) and it all finishes with strong, fat bitterness. Nice amber color with a multifinger beige head. Aromas of lightly roasted caramel and fruity/floral hop. Medium+ body with creamy carbonation. Flavor is roasted caramel and fruit - a bit tart like green apple. Somewhat nutty. Finishes quite dry. Leaves a spicy feeling on the tongue. Gotta love it.
