Ungstrup (11930), Frederiksberg, Denmark Dec 4, 2005 [Cask at GBBF 2005] A brown beer with a thin off-white head. A very dark color for a Bitter. The aroma is quity light with nutty notes and esters. The flavor is nutty combined with roasted malt, leading to a good hoppy dry bitter end. oh6gdx (6583), Vaasa, Finland Nov 4, 2007 Cask@Beer Hunters, Pori. Hazy deep orange colour, mediumsized creamy white head. Aroma is really fruity and slightly wooden and nectary. Flaour is herbs, wooden and slightly nectary. Pleasant and wellbalanced. harrisoni (5605), Ashford, Kent, England Jul 12, 2005 Cask at White Horse, Dover
Had this once before at the Red Lion, Snargate at their summer beer festival and thought that it was a bit bland then. It has a rich deep brown colour but then after that it has some good malt flavours but doesn’t really go anywhere. Not enough structure or balance to make it interesting duff (5407), Sydney, Australia, Surrey, England Nov 11, 2005 Cask@The Roebuck, Richmond, London. A darker bitter than i’m used to, some earthy toasty caramel malt flavours, with some leafy and once again earthy hop characters, slight sweet start, with a touch of dry bitterness in the finish. Not too bad at all. TBone (5261), Pori, Finland Aug 31, 2008 Cask@Beer Hunters
Rated Nov 2007 - rating was missing (or deleted) from Ratebeer. Copper-amber color, nice creamy head. Flowery hoppy nose with hints of honey. Nutty hoppy flavor, nicely bitter with long hoppy aftertaste. Decent malt profile for this ABV (4%). Good session beer. (7/4/7/3/13 3.4)
Rated Aug 2008. Clear dark red-amber color, decent white head. Nutty hoppy aroma. Pale malty (good malt base), decent bitterness, which leans to long hoppy aftertaste. Some honey sweet and hazelnut notes too. (6/3/7/3/12 3.1)
