Commercial Description:
While normaly pilsners are filtered, this beer is not, and therefore it is, strictly speaking, a KELLERBIER (taken from the cellar while still hazy). Easy to drink and pairs with most food.

Draft at the Tavern. Pale gold, slight turbidity, with tall white head, some lacing. Bergamot and bready notes mostly mask a twinge of funk. Dry,forward bitterness and a pithy middle. Finish is a little tart. This beer favors warmer seasons, but a nice utility beer overall.

A blonde beer with a thick white head. In aroma, a very wild weed, citrusy and nice. In mouth, nice resinous lager, with very nice pungeant Saaz hops, mineral notes, intense and pleasing. My favorite. On tap at brewpub, August 16 2009.

On tap at the brewpub. Light gold pour. Skunky dishwater aroma. Crisp malt taste with a pronounced hop bitterness. Couldn’t get past the aroma.

Draft @ the brewpub. Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a small white head. Has a malty grainy slightly hoppy aroma. Malty hoppy and slighlty grainy flavor. Has a sweetish malty hoppy finish.

On-tap at the brewpub. Pours cloudy orange with a big, fluffy white head, good retention, good lace. Smells of bready malt and some hay. Tastes bready and malty, pretty crisp malt flavors. Lingering grain flavors on the finish. Medium body, good carbonation. Solid beer.

This is ok, but pretty standard for micro-brew lagers and not nearly among the best. It also lacks much hop presence, in taste or bitterness and, key for my own preferences, does not taste German or Czech. It is golden with a medium off-white head and smells of perfumy grain/dry hay with honey and a hint of lemon. The taste is light, mostly the light, non-toasty aromatic grain/dry hay that I find common in many light or golden ales and lagers from this general region. This is ok but I personally find it tiresome. It has a very faint lemony hop element and almost no bitterness while the flavours lack complexity or any herbal or real grassy or piney qualities, toastiness, or caramel, etc. It is very light, simple, and to me uninteresting. I would call this simply a lager, not a pilsner. In bitterness and hop character, it’s weaker and more bland than Pabst Blue Ribbon, or Stella Artois. It is like a simpler, blander, less well-crafter version of Moonlight Luntic Lager, and is far less complexor hoppy (to say nothing of Reality Czech). However, it is clean, with nothing off or soapy about it.
