| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 23, 2009 Bottle. Pours black with a medium brown head. Aroma mostly of roast malts with a little alcohol. Flavor is very malty with a subtle sweetness. Alcohol is detectable but not overpowering. Coffee, toffee, oatmeal, and a slight chocolate are noticeable. The slight sweetness blends very well and does not clash with the beer as a whole. This is a very smooth Imperial Stout and is one of the best beers I’ve had. Slayer85 (590), Firenze, Italy
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 21, 2009 Bottle. An opaque black beer with a small and mostly diminishing brown head. Strong aroma of malt with subtle hops. There are note of roasted grains, chocolate, coffee, molasses, alcohol and dark fruits. The flavour is almost heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. The malts are heavily roasted, you can feel it more in the mouth than in the nose. Also rather thick. Medium to full body, lively carbonation, long finish with medium bitterness, moderately alcoholic. Quite good balance, intensity and complexity. TimE (1364), Tokyo, Japan
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 19, 2009 Very dark brown color. Oatmeal, fudge and dark fruit pour out of the nose. Very intense, dark fruit, dark chocolate fudge, and oatmeal grab your palate and severely beat it. Stil, remains balanced. Huge chocolatey oatmeal finish. Yummy. Not too sweet. Not too bitter, just focuses on chocolate and oatmeal. arminjewell (150), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA
| 4.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Dec 17, 2009 2007 bottle. Pours thick black with thin dark brown crown, smells of thick chocolate and oatmeal with some sweet toffee. Taste is amazing warmed up, thick on the tongue because of the oatmeal with bitter chocolates and sweet coffee and molasses round it out. Excellent!
