This was enjoyable but there are plenty of other pumpkin beers out there I would rather have. Color was just what I wanted in a golden dark brown with nice carbonation. Aroma nice also with a lot of spice that really tells you you’re heading for pumpkin land. The flavor is what I did not enjoy as much. While the spice and pumpkin where there, it was something about the combination of flavors and body that were off and led to a less than optimal experience. Couldn’t say exactly what it was but it just seemed a bit off to me. Again, spices and pumpkin is there, just not in the right combination for me.

Dec 1, 2009 Bottle thanks to bman1113vr. Clear orange pour. Aroma is pumpkin, spice, cinnamon. Flavor is pumpkin, cinnamon, clove, pumpkin pie. Quite good.

Nov 30, 2009 Bottle via a trade with Brigadier. Pours with a clear golden body and a fading white head. Aroma of cinnamon, florals, sweetness and a ton of pie. Taste is pie, cinnamon sugar, nutmeg, and pretty awesome overall. Medium carbonation. One of the better pumpkin beers out there.

Bottle: The aroma is very spicy with lots of ginger, nutmeg, and cinnamon. It pours a transparent golden-orange with a minimal large bubbled head. The flavor starts with caramel and light pumpkin sweetness. The finish has light ginger, cinnamon, and nutmeg. The spice in the flavor is nowhere near as strong as the aroma. Light-medium bodied with light carbonation.

Nov 26, 2009 Bottle from West Lakeview. I thought this was un-good. Nose of pumpkin and nutmeg, but quickly turns into cinnamon, sugar and Christmas spice - way overboard on the Christmas spice. Like drinking potpourri. Pass.

Nov 24, 2009 Deep orange w/ thin off-white head. Aroma of nutmeg, allspice, with a touch of cinnamon. Medium bodied, starts slightly tangy and finishes moderately sweet. A good, spicy pumpkin beer, could be thicker and more ’meaty’ but a good beer.

Nov 24, 2009 Bottle thanks to Brigadier: Pours a transparent deep orange with a thin, short-lived white head. Has a nicely spice cinnamon and pumpkin nose with some rich, sweet caramel toffee undertones. Starts with good fullness and sweet toasty caramel malty sweetness with a good balance of ginger and nutmeg with a touch of pumpkin flavor, but nowhere near as much as Southern Tier’s Pumking. Still a pretty flavorful and complex brew.

Nov 21, 2009 22oz bottle from Binny’s. Pours a clear orange with a creamy beige head. That’s some pumpkin spice in the nose. Fake pumpkin filling, cinnamon, clove, and brown sugar with a little citrus. Flavors are similar and not bad at first but it quickly becomes too sweet and tough to drink. If you’re into pumpkin coffee drinks or other manufactured pumpkin themed flavors you might really enjoy this. But this is otherwise tough to finish.
