Thanks to SoLan for the suggestion. Pours a nice clear dark gold with a thick off white head. Nice peppery belgian esters mixed with big spicy citrus hops. Smooth malt and spicy, pepper, yeasty Belgian flavors as well as great hop bitterness. Great blend of flavors, a real winner.

Botte: Pours a hazed orange color with thick peach-hued dense head atop. Bubbles rise through the orange like jellyfish. The nose had elements of jellied fruit candies. the fumes had nice, soft waves of peach and pineapple and a powdery floral core. Flavors bring back the flowers with soft essences of fruit behind them. There’s a sweetness lying below everything helping to accent the nuances. Bitterness and hop flavors are vibrant yet balanced. The yeast used here is very intriguing...not what I was expecting. Body is medium to full, more powdery than potentially syrupy. Its weird, its nice, I guess I would have to say I dig it...for a style I’m not usually too keen on.

The aroma is very hoppy and malty with plenty of alcohol. The appearance is orange gold with a nice head. The taste is like the aroma. The palate is smooth. Overall this is a good beer and not overly hoppy but I don’t get any Belgian style in this or any IIPA.

Bomber thanks to Santa!!!!! Pours a cloudy, translucent beautiful yellow with a thick, white head. Beautiful lacing. Great retention. Great, complex aroma: some beta-acid hops, esters, starfruit, yeast, a bit musty. Taste up front is a bit off: some white wine vinegar, very dry hops and -whoa and then moves to mellowed out rum, white pepper. Very dry throughout. Alcohol starts to hit after awhile. Damn. Though it looks like a harmless tripel, this thing will destroy you. Very strange, fun, exciting.

Thanks to Nathan for the bottle! Poured medium golden-orange with a surprisingly scant whitish head. The aroma picked up a heavy dose of banana-ey yeast and buttery notes paired with citrus and peppery hoppage.. quite sweet and very intriguing. The flavor found bread and caramelly notes at the core with pine, floral, and lesser citrus bitterness around.. the spicy yeast was elegantly laced throughout and it left the most memorable impression on the finish.. tasty stuff. Medium-bodied with low carbonation on the palate.. balance was close, but it was too grainy at times.. not my favorite cross of styles, but I wouldn’t turn down another.

(bottle shared by Skyview) Pours clear orange with a medium white head that retains. Aroma is potent with hops, citrus, mint, but the yeast character I’d expect in a tripel is consumed by the abundant hopping. The taste possesses some caramel, light banana, and oranges, with a lightly bitter and faintly yeasty finish. Not quite as good and vibrant as the Chouffe Hobbelen, but still good nonetheless.

22oz bottle sampled at the DC local tasting. Pours a clear yellow gold with a lacing white head. Aroma of C hops (Columbus, Cascade) with some sugary Belgian-ness. Flavor is sweet, fruity, tropical fruits, candy sweetness, grapefruit. Almost like a liquid lollipop. Too sweet and too fruity. Imbalanced.

22oz bottle, thanks CaptainCougar. Small off-white head atop clear light amber body. Aroma is medium sweet, grapefruit/straw, cantaloupe. Taste is moderately sweet, grapefruit/pine, some strawberry. Fairly dry finish. Medium body, some resin.
