BlackForestCO (501), Fort Collins and Black Forest, Colorado, USA Jun 15, 2008 Bottle shared by Crosling. Poured a clear golden-copper color with a moderate beige head that diminished to a ring. Moderate malt in the aroma with some citric, fruity hops and light caramel. Light citrus entry with some moderate caramel malt leads into an earthy hop hit with some light citrus and a off, oxidized taste. Somewhat light on the palate, but not bad. A fresh bottle would have been much better.
Defreni (480), Frederiksberg, Denmark Aug 29, 2008 Flaske. Bockyhorsey (1961), Mesa, Arizona, USA Aug 29, 2008 22oz bottle courtesy of Crisay. Reall good pine tree aroma. Amber oranage color body with off white head. Has a crisp bitterness cold but as it warms up citrus orange syrupy sugar sweetness subdues the bitter. Caramel malts present also. Nice sipping brew to enjoy after work with little dryness on the palate. gameface23 (86), Haverhill, Massachusetts, USA Aug 25, 2008 Bottle. Pours a sediment filled copper color with an off-white head. When cold, the nose is off apricots and citrus, but warms up to give off hints of smell caramel. Extremely well balanced without any notice of a bitter aftertaste. Tastes of caramelized apricots. Medium bodied. awiseman01 (10), Indianapolis, Indiana, USA Aug 23, 2008 Tasted side by side with Stone Ruination. This is slightly more floral/fruity. Slightly darker/red in color. Very citrus/hoppy on the nose. Tast is AMAZING for the hop lover. Citrus, grapefruit, orange colinder, tea, and a little bit of the ocean breeze as I drift into paradise. Where can I get another? KieferUGA (317), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Aug 19, 2008 22 oz. bottle. Pours a hazy, amber color. Lots of floaties. Small, thin white head. Lacing present. Big aroma of piney, citrus, and floral hops. Bitterness hits you from the start, but the caramel malts balance things nicely. Long, bitter finish.
