| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 10, 2009 Bomber into mini pint glass. Nice clear copper body with a good creamy offwhite head that holds pretty well. Aroma is nutty, roasted malt, vanilla, and some dark fruit. Jesus the flavour is strong - strongly sweet and boozy. So sweet I am wondering why they didn’t just let it ferment out longer. Not bad, just very intense. Not sure if I’ll get through the bomber. Getting more tolerable. Dark fruits mostly. Medium body with minimal carbonation. Great smooth mouth feel. Overall: not bad. A nice warmer for the fall and winter months.

| 1.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 5/20 | Jan 1, 2010 I did not like this one at all. It reminds me of a cherry ice cone with some cotton candy mixed in. Pours a murky amber with a nice lacing head. The aroma is right out of the carnival. Flavor is candy sweet with a very sticky mouth feel. I’ve really enjoyed their other stuff but this one leaves me lacking. argo0 (7025), Washington DC, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 26, 2009 Bottle from Broudy’s in Jacksonville Beach brought back by the wife. Pours copper with as short beige head. Aroma is malty with caramel, light peat, and wet grains. Taste is big caramel, sweet malt, subtle peatiness, wet cereal and light toasted notes. Body is medium with a bubbly but creamy carbonation feel. Ends with more caramel and wet grains along with sweet malt and faint peat. Ok stuff but I wish the peaty notes were more pronounced. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Dec 24, 2009 Pours a transparent copper amber with a thin ring of white head. Has a soft caramel malty nose with some grainy notes and a touch of peat. Starts with good malty fullness and some light caramel flavor with a touch of light fruits and earthy peat beFore a drier grainy finish. An ok Scotch ale, but could use more sweetness and complexity. riversideAK (2803), Shoreline, Washington, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 4, 2009 Nose is sweet and malty. Lots of caramel, some green apple, and fruity sugars. A hint of earth is in there underneath the sweetness, as well as a very light rye note that is lightly tangy/spicy. Pours red amber with light foam and lace. Sweet and sugary. Lots of caramel, some toast, apple. Lingering sweetness coats the palate. Tons of residual sugars in here. Light earthy spicy rye notes deep down. Too sweet for me to enjoy all the way. Medium carb. Almost syrupy. RHeastings (433), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Dec 4, 2009 Experienced from a 22oz bottle in a pub glass. The beer pours a medium to fairly deep amber color, with a moderate off-white head. The nose shows strong notes of English character malts. Caramel, toffee, and a touch of milk chocolate. Unfortunately, the palate is, to put it very mildly, a disappointment. The aforementioned flavors initially come to the fore, but they are followed by an absolute tidal wave of residual sweetness. Given the O.G. (1.086), and the beer’s abv (8.2), the beer had to have finished fermenting at an unbelievably high level. The level of sweetness leaves a cloying note on the palate of malt and a sort of caramelized sugar/maple syrup. It is tempting to just pour the beer, had it not ran $11. Overall, a pretty pathetic effort from a fairly widely distributed brewery. jrob21 (1279), Atlanta, Georgia, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Dec 2, 2009 Is a clear dark red color with almost no head. Way on the syrupy side. I typically like this style but this one is just not doing it for me due to all of the sweetness. After the sugar there is a bit of a red fruit and caramel malt flavor working in the background. The aroma is even filled with syrupy sweetness. If you want dessert, drink this beer.
