smcd (363), USA Mar 27, 2006 Raisiny, pruney, malty aromas. Good, off-white head tgat lingers nicely and leaves nice lace. Dark amber. Exceedingly well-balanced, just this side of bitter. Malthy notes of caramel evident in the aroma profile follow into the flavor profile as well. Some hints of dried fruit in the flavor too. Medium-full bodied with a surprisingly dry, lingering finish. Quite nice. bb (2168), Martinez, California, USA Feb 2, 2005 Draft. Nitro pour. Dark reddish-amber with a creamy off-ehite head. Subdued malt aroma. Hoppy flavor with malt backing. There’s a lot of hop flavor without it being overly bitter - pine and citrus. I don’t normally like hoppy beers on nitro, but because of the flavor, this one works. Hoppy for an amber style, but that’s what the bartender said.
