Commercial Description:
The decorative sign over the bar was a purple and blue variation on the old Coppertone ads.

Lacy's Panty Dropper (LPD - aka Lodi's Police Department) resembles Ed's version of a La Fin du Monde. The malts used are basically Pale, Wheat, Caramel, and Extra Special malts, along with a goodly dose of rice in lieu of the more traditional Candi Sugar (which serves to boost the alcohol while keeping the body relatively light). A modest addition of Palisade hops (modest hops could be a theme for the coming year), and a hint of cardamom and star anise were tossed in to spice it up a bit. It is fermented with a robust Belgian high-gravity yeast. Alcohol by volume is a heart warming 9.0%.

Draft at the brewpub. Spicey, almost ginger aroma. Hazy darkish amber color with an off-white head that did some lacing. Medium body with near creamy carbonation. The flavor is orange/clove, and coriander, but as the fluid leaves there is a distinct ginger impression. Very different. Very tasty. Very Christmasy in its way. The finish is quite Belgian - somewhat sweet, but well balanced with bitter & tangy spice. Would be interesting to see the recipe. Reminds me of Blandford Fly, but more complex and intense.
