| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Apr 9, 2009 Bottle courtesy of bhensonb: Pours a transparent dark amber red with a stringy-lacing off-white head. Aroma of sweet grainy caramel malts with a touch of piny hops. Starts with good fullness and a healthy amount of dark caramel sweetness, but could use more hoppiness before its bittersweet finish. A decent amber ale. DocLock (4648), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 6, 2009 Bottle from CAH. Pours deep ruby with no turbididty and a clingy, off=white head. Nose is caramel malt, heavy hops. Tastes caramel malty, very hoppy, earthy, and a bit red grapey and winey, but mostly earthy, to the point where the chocolate malt tastes a bit like scotch malt. Starts and stays hoppy, but is not quite as balanced as the world class examples of this style.
