baraciisch (138), USA Jun 24, 2009 Yellow orange in color... Unremarkable aroma.. Flavor is initially sweet citrus with hints of spice and bitterness at the finish which presumably must come from the wasabi... Interesting beer, worth a try... bhensonb (4187), Woodland, California, USA Aug 24, 2008 Tap at the brewpub. Served with a cucumber slice. Pale gold color with a fine white head. Light aromas of pale malt and something that could be wasabi. Medium body with creamy carbonation. Flavor is mild floral hop over malt, and there is a warming that seems to come in the blood. A hot spice builds slightly into the finish. Good for washing down lightly spicy food. Taste was reasonable. I enjoyed it. DYCSoccer17 (2187), Davis, California, USA Jul 29, 2008 16 ounce sample on tap at the brewpub. Some cereal-graininess present in the nose. There is a bit of spiciness present, which is presume might be wasabi. The spiciness is also very reminiscent of Noble hops. Strange mildly hazy straw color with some light tan hues present. Small white head. Starts a bit astringent. Becomes a little spicy and crisp with perhaps some of the wasabi coming through? Milky malt chewiness present in the middle with a little more astringency after that. Different, not overly bitter. Not bad. Not memorable, either.
