topher40409 (36), gainesville, Florida, USA May 30, 2008 personally my favorite beer on draft at hops. great red pour with no head- I blame the bartender. aroma is nothing to brag about small amounts of malt caramel and citrus hops. the taste is sweet dark caramle malt with a hint of toffe- balanced out by generous amounts of american hops
MaltDawg (376), Richmond, Virginia, USA Oct 15, 2008 Date: 10/4/2008 Source:Hops Restaurant and Brewery Sampler at the brewery. Very slight malt/grain aroma. Clear amber with small white head. Moderate fruity floral hop notes over very grainy pale malt profile. Medium body and mouthfeel. Finish is slightly peppery and fairly bitter. UnholyBrewing (322), Melbourne, Australia Aug 14, 2008 ...sampler at gainesville location. Nothin special here, typical american amber lager. Had small white head that faded, rice and malt flavor, with a dry finish. Poor attempt. Immy (1610), Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA Jun 21, 2008 On tap at the Newington, CT. brewpub, listed as Thoroughbred Red. Clear dark red/amber with an off white head. Nice, malty sweet nose, a touch of wood, and nuts. None of the metallic crap I find so common in beers like this. Sweet, nutty malt flavors. Not bad! daknole (1125), Plantation, Florida, USA Jun 11, 2008 I used to mix this with their stout to make an intersting brew that was better than any of their beers by themselves. This was your typical Amercian red. Maybe a tad more flavor than Kilians. Oakes (7030), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Jun 10, 2008 Reddish-amber colour. Woody, lightly citrusy nose with caramel accents. Balanced palate, somewhat light but with a bit of stickiness. There’s some floral, fruity hop and forward caramel.
