Weak citrus and earthy aroma. Perfumey nose. Apples flavours that turn sweet with less pronounced hops. balance is good, though. Full-bodied, slightly oily. A more complex DIPA. This beer was on nitro, which made the otherwsie average DIPA a super creamy and interesting treat.Tons of hops with a decent amount of malt which went down smooth thanks to the nitro pour UselessGdTaste (363), Long Beach, California, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Jan 7, 2008 Ok...it’s on NITRO. And... It works. Totally looked like it was going to be wayyy too thick. And...yes...I was right. It was wayyy too thick, but I actually liked it that way. It really gave the hops an odd quality. I would love to try the nitro and CO2 version side by side. I’m going to give it a high number because I really love the unusual quality that works, and I think that should be rewarded. Taverner (876), San Ramon, California, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 22, 2007 Pours gold to amber. Two finger head that quickly recedes, leaving nice lacing. Flavor is piney and woody - not a bad IIPA! hapjydeuce (773), Del Mar, California, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Dec 6, 2007 Pizza Port Strong Ale Fest ’07. First time for me trying a IIPA on nitro tap...it actually turned out better than I expected. The nitrogen really kicked up the appearance and aroma a notch upon pouring, talk about some serious thickness and cascading for an IPA. Frothy white head, bad-ass appearance with sticky caramelized malts and bread in the aroma. Blast of sweetness on each sip (my only big complaint), with lots of pine forest. Damn chewy palate, one of the most viscous IIPA’s Ive tried. Based on my level of coherence, I’m lucky I didn’t try to eat the flesh of my cheek. Ouch. nightrider (383), encinitas, California, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Nov 3, 2007 On tap at PP C-Bad. Moderate white head with a cloudy golden hue. Citrus notes and pine on the nose. Strong bitterness and citrus flavors with a fair finish. Alcohol well understated. Quite good.
