A big IPA aroma, lots of deep, succulent hops showing through, with a little alcohol and similar suggestions of malts. Classic flavors--citrus/grapefruit most prominently. ¾ (5011), Boulder, Colorado, USA

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 28, 2004 Very different. Citrusy, lemony hops. Nothing much else. It loses a few points because, even thought it's as good as Stone IPA, I can't get it. snoot (277), Anaheim, California, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Feb 7, 2004 On tap at Hollingshead in Orange. Nice amber pour, fantastic head. Aroma is definitely hoppy, but there is a noticeable malt backbone, the hops don't command all the attention. Flavor quite similar, perfect balance for a big IPA and great masking of the alcohol. The aroma is sweet and malty with notes of tropical fruits and grapefruity, piney hops. The flavor is slightly sweet but mostly piiney and bitter from hops with slight notes of grapefruit and other tropical fruits. A slight touch of malt and alcohol are in the background. Medium to full bodied and silky smooth yet slightly dry. Eyedrinkale (3209), Astoria, New York, USA
