Commercial Description:
"What can I say, this beauty weighs in at 9.5% abv and above (depending how I feel when I brew it). Though it's monster aromatics and hoppy bitterness are its predominant characters, the rich caramel malting balances the complex profile of this brew. Available in draft only, both in co2 and nitrogen....a whole keg of whoop ass!"

Bottle from the brewer. Clear golden color with a good head. A big IPA aroma, lots of deep, succulent hops showing through, with a little alcohol and similar suggestions of malts. Classic flavors--citrus/grapefruit most prominently.

Bottle from the brewer at the Dallas tasting, March 27, 2004. Aroma is of orange peel and sweet hopped citrus, with a small amount of pine. Golden orange appearance, very dry and bitter with flavors of pine and sweet grapefruit. Nutty at times as well.

Very different. Citrusy, lemony hops. Nothing much else. It loses a few points because, even thought it's as good as Stone IPA, I can't get it.

On tap at Hollingshead in Orange. Nice amber pour, fantastic head. Aroma is definitely hoppy, but there is a noticeable malt backbone, the hops don't command all the attention. Flavor quite similar, perfect balance for a big IPA and great masking of the alcohol.

This I2PA pours with an amber body topped by a thick, creamy, lasting head with lots of lacing left behind. The aroma is sweet and malty with notes of tropical fruits and grapefruity, piney hops. The flavor is slightly sweet but mostly piiney and bitter from hops with slight notes of grapefruit and other tropical fruits. A slight touch of malt and alcohol are in the background. Medium to full bodied and silky smooth yet slightly dry.

A wonderful hoppy brew that dissapointed me on first taste, but that I have warmed up to.

Well, whaddya use when you need to cut the layer left from an afternoon session of the GABF off your tongue? Pal, I'm here to tell ya this 'ere might just be your best bet. Sure worked for me. An' tastey too! Citric? By god you're right. Got to enjoy in the company of beer pal, owner of Falling Rock (yo Chris) and his wife. Now THAT you can't beat/ What, you say you can? I say throw a great calzone and super weather in and I still don't even need to go back to the finer points of this grand beer because it is all there and I'm just glad I had the opportunity to sample. Hope you get the same.
