Commercial Description:
"What can I say, this beauty weighs in at 9.5% abv and above (depending how I feel when I brew it). Though it's monster aromatics and hoppy bitterness are its predominant characters, the rich caramel malting balances the complex profile of this brew. Available in draft only, both in co2 and nitrogen....a whole keg of whoop ass!"

Clear and deep amber with a soft head. This beer was a hop monster with big notes of grapefruit, grass and pine. It was probably loaded with vitamin C, also. Malts kept right up, amazingly. Made for a nicely balanced and enjoyable beer. I really liked it.

Clear copper with a frothy off-white head. Cascade, grapefruit aroma with lots of pine also. Some caramel aromas also. This is very hoppy lots of grapefruit from front to back. Lightish body for the style.

On tap@O'brien's: Deep dark amber with a wisp of light tan head. Nose is light and sweet. Flavor is rich and sweet at the start and grapefruit bitter in the finish with a nice balance. The aftertaste is long and dry orange peel bitter. Whoa... where did that alcohol come from ???

Dark-orange, hazy. Slim head. Citrussy-gingerbread, orange-rind, cloves and cinnamon in the nose. Taste: HOPS - well, what did I suspect? - but the malt gives the right kind of underbuild. All of the former aromas return in the flavour. Very full-bodied, quite some alcohol detectable. This is great. Everything the 'ordinary' IPA from Hoptown is missing, is available here in an abundant way.

Waited a long time to finally enjoy this brew. I had it off the beer engine. Had an almost burnt grass aroma, just in front of the massive hop aroma. Definetly dominated by the hops, with some madarin, kumquat and other citrus elements. Not nearly as bitter as I anticipated.

Tap @ the Bistro's Double IPA Festival. Amber color with a tan head. The flavor has an interesting chocolate and roast character to go along with the hops.

On tap at the 2003 Toronado Barleywine Festival: Slightly funky aroma. Very grassy. Young. Crystal malt sweetness.
