Bottle opened to an audible pop and some head creeping out (but not a gusher). Poured a medium and cloudy golden color with a huge sized white head. Some floaters. Aromas of citrus, yeast and on the bready side. Tastes of citrus, grass, bread and some sweet malts. Body on the thin side. This is by far the best smelling and tasting Golden Ales that I’ve tasted of late (I think I’ll actually finish this one). bhensonb (4337), Woodland, California, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 10/20 | Jan 23, 2007 Light aroma with citrus, and, I think, malt. Hazy golden peach color with a significant white head. Bet this is either unpasteruized or BC. Starts out with a hint of peach, followed by a wet paper overlay, followed by pepper! Interesting mouthfeel, and the pepper may be from hops? Quite dry. heemer77 (4309), Savannah, Missouri, USA

I smelled soap, watermelon and some light grapefruit in this one. The taste has light hints of grapefruit rind with some roasted peanut shells. There are also some strange notes of pears and black pepper spice in the finish. This is a brew that seems to me to be halfway between an amber and a Belgian Golden strong ale. beerguy101 (3946), Newark, California, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 8/20 | Sep 25, 2002 Gold color, large head. A light golden ale with some hop kick, no maltyness. Full flavor, but way, way to hoppy for a golden ale. Finish is crisp. Aftertaste is very bitter. BEER NOT TO STYLE. Braudog (3770), Dayton, Ohio, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jul 21, 2005 Bottle poured a hazy golden with a white head. Aromas of light citrus and biscuits. Palate is smooth and refreshing. Flavors of citrus, a little grassiness, and biscuits. A good summertime session beer. GeneralGao (3057), Iowa City, Iowa, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 10, 2008 22 oz bottle given to me by heermer77. Thanks Eric. The bottle said 5% AbV. Served at cellar temperature. There was some nice yeast sediment at the bottom of the bottle. Poured a hazy golden color. Head was rocky and white with pretty good retention. Aroma was mostly of cereal grain and light citrusy hops. There was also a whiff of caramel. Dry and effervescent on the tongue with carbonation on the higher end of the spectrum. The flavor was dominated by bitter citrusy hops without much of a malt backbone (other than some light cereal grain). The bitterness peaked at about 6 out of 10. Overall, this one was light and easy to drink. SledgeJr (2962), Omaha, Nebraska, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 29, 2008 In the bomber bottle from HyVee CB. Pours a cloudy, yeast chunky deep overnight pee gold. Has an incredibly thick as a brick white concrete head. This has a very solid yeasty and bready aroma. I really love this beer because it tastes just like many homebrewed golden ales that I have made. It is thick and has lots of lemon-yeast flavors at the finish. Plenty of hop presence without seeming bitter at all. Just a great homestyle beer.
