Commercial Description:
HopTown IPA, our flagship beer, has a rich, malty character, an alcohol content of 6.2% and a generous helping of hops (almost two pounds per barrel!). We use Galena hops for bittering and Cascade and Centennial hops for the finish and for dry hopping.

(nitro, Barclays) Off-white head atop clear golden body. Aroma is medium sweet, grapefruit, pine. Taste is medium sweet, grapefruit, pineapple. Creamy light-medium body with resin, no carbonation. Not sure I have had an IPA on nitro before, and I cannot say this experience makes me feel that I have been missing something.

Bottle acquired in trade with DarkElf (thanks!). Poured a dark amber color with an averaged sized tan head. Aromas and tastes of grapefruit, pine and light caramel. Medium bitter with a lightly sweet balance to it. Enjoyable.

Bottle sampled on 3/14/07: Pours a clear copper orange with a wispy-lacing off-white head. Aroma of sweet caramely toffee malt with an earthy, green, grapefruity hoppiness. Body starts with a nice, rich malty sweetness with a good bittering hoppy balance. A smooth, drinkable brew.

Bottle... O-Town Throwdown Part Tres... Murky golden ale with a small, creamy, white head. Earthy, piney, evergreen bark aroma with additional toffee and caramel notes. Perfectly balanced flavor offers rich, caramel sweetness and citric hop bitterness. Medium-bodied and spritzy. Lightly sweet, medium bitter, and then bone-dry finish.

Orange-amber, hazy; yellowish head. Nose: very much hops and some more hops, as in American noble. Taste: guess, HOPS! - in such a way it has acquired a non-sweet licorice aroma. Caramel malt underneath, with sauced-tobacco flavour. Well bodied. Hoppiness, the amount notwithstanding, is not aggressive. End of the bottle very yeasty. A typical West-Coast hop IPA - less over-the-top than some, but a bit one-dimensional after all.

Bottle shared by puzzl. Pale amber beer with a nice clean crisp hoppy aroma. Orange and grapefruit over a fairly clean malt base. The aroma is more impressive than the flavour and the beer doesn’t taste nearly as hoppy as it smells. Light breadiness. Still, quite good, if indistinct.
