Commercial Description:
Hoptown Oatmeal Breakfast Stout is not your typical oatmeal stout. Rich with chocolate and roasted barley malts, and an aggressive yeast strain, combined with loads of rolled oats creates an oatmeal stout with a creamy texture and a dry, hoppy finish. Great with or without eggs, bacon, and toast. Enjoy.

On tap at Hop-Yard Pleasanton Aroma: Chocolate and Coffee notes are dominant Appearance: Black with some brown high-lights with a light-bornw head with lasted a long time Flavor: Roasty character and coffee notes balanced with the bitterness. Palate: Medium in body, and surprisingly light on the tongue The finish belies the rish start of the beern Overall: A very delicious oat-meal stout, somehow the version I tried today seemed a little tired and did not have the mouthfeel

Opaque brown, almost black pour, with no head. Aroma is semi-sweet chocolate and coffee. The taste is mostly the same with a scoop of oatmeal and cream mixed in. A milkshake-like mouthfeel. Very good, but lacking in somehting that would make it great.

Bottle. Pitch black with quickly vanishing tan head. Aroma is sweet roasted chocolate. Taste is both malty and hoppy with chocolate and mild espresso. I really want to like this, but there is something empty about the taste. It makes me really want to have a Founder’s Breafast Stout.

aroma: salty, acidic, coffee beans, malty, & thick. i can almost smell eggs & bacon in this breakfast baby. its burning my throat just smelling. i am precumming for the first sip.

appearance: she is black as night. small head. unfortunate for such a lovely sexual body.

flavor: she is thick. chalky. i taste a bit of grass in her. maybe she’s a dirty girl. she likes rolling around in mud and dirt. and filth. and she has grass stains on her knees. i don’t even want to begin on where these grass stains could be from. she is coffeelike, but not too coffelike. she has a peculiar freshness. and outdoorsey type of gal. she likes the woods and frolicking in fields. i definetely taste her oats now. maybe a bit of grains. she is a real bread, cereal, rice & pasta type of group on the food pyramid. get a lot of servings of this baby. she is dry. bone dry. really drying up my palate. i like it though.

quite the delicious babe. although she was a bit 1 dimensional. not too much complexity to her. good for a 1 night stand and not much more. you burrow?

Poured an opaque black color with a small, tan head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt, sweet chocolate, and faint whisky. Taste was roasty, with more sweet chocolate, lactose, and a faint sourness in the end.

22 oz. bottle, from BevMo. Pours opaque, motor oil black color with a small tannish head that diminished almost instantly leaving tiny dots of lace. Aroma is roasty sweet, milky-sour (in a pleasant way) with a little bit of honey, vanilla and clover. Flavor is roasty, bitter and sourish in the finish, notes of charcoaled oak, burnt coffee, bitter chocolate and a bit of lemon. Creamy, full mouthfeel with virtually no carbonation. I have to say, I’m disappointed in the flavor of this one, a little more astringent and sour than I would have expected.

22oz - 2004 - Aroma is sweet choco-malt and subtle hops. Pours black with a huge creamy brown head that slowly fades leaving decent lacing. Flavor is also sweet with chocolate syrup, coffee, malt, and oatmeal. Creamy palate makes for a smooth drinking brew.

Bottle poured a brownish black with a quickly dissapating brown head. aromas of chocolate, burnt coffee, and a hint of vanilla. Palate is smooth and creamy. Flavors of smoke, chocolate, a bit of vanilla and a bitter finish.
