Commercial Description:
Hoptown Oatmeal Breakfast Stout is not your typical oatmeal stout. Rich with chocolate and roasted barley malts, and an aggressive yeast strain, combined with loads of rolled oats creates an oatmeal stout with a creamy texture and a dry, hoppy finish. Great with or without eggs, bacon, and toast. Enjoy.

One of the darkest stouts I’ve ever com across... If you held this one up to the sun still no light shines through. Dark brown head sits on top. Aroma of roasted malt. Very smooth and creamy in the mouth. A bit of smoke in the aftertaste. Nice finish.

Ooooohhhh so very creamy and smooth.Smooth as Guiness Druaght but smoother,no bitter after taste, well, not yet,I know Guiness’s Stout has one of the most bitter after tastes. I need to try the other breakfast stouts mentioned.

Vanilla, cream, milk, and espresso dominate the aroma. Nice black body, win very thin tan head. Heavy chocolate, with mild oatmeal taste. Pretty smooth, and pretty good.

Dark purple with a crimson shimmer. Tight, creamy, rocky beige foam. Unspent roasted grain nose paired with port wine, baked currants, and leather. Stewed plum, crystallized sugar, and spicy anise undertones. Extremely subdued scents of black malt and chocolate. Loose carbonation. Silky soft body, yet highly thin. Lightly oxidized, acidic flavors. Quick surge of airiness accompanies some burnt malt hull notes, which lend some temporary sweetness, but eventually succumb to the airiness. Underlying roasted malt character adds some chewiness to the body and helps thwart the airiness. Remains firmly vinous in the body with crystallized sugars and very low fruity esters, other than scant port wine tannins. Closes quick, thinnish, and dry with waning charcoal flavors, intensifying dried plum acidity, and a mere trace of chocolate, vanilla, and bitter coffee. Airy belches suppress much of the burnt/roasted malt flavors that remain on the palate after the swallow. Overall, a very nice aroma. But as with their “Imperial,” this suffers from a highly tentative malt nature and frail body. Utter disappointment.

Another fine looking bomber from Flipbrewer.Nice dark brown color, small tan head that had a good hangtime then faded to a nice small lace..The aroma was roasty malt ,coffee and maybe some hints of chocolate and a very slight hint of some smoke in there as well.Very nice roasty flavor light coffee, just a hint of chocolate at the very end, with a mild but decent hop presence coming on in the tail end and after taste to make for a nice mild coffee hop after taste.Very nice smooth brew that goes well with breakfast or like i’m doing right now, having it for breakfast. Thanks alot for the great brew Ernie. Rerate:One other thing i'm detecting as this brew warms up more is a nice butterscotch note coming on with a slight buttery taste in the end.Even better then before.

This stout pours with a black body topped by a thick, brown, creamy head with a good amount of lacing. The aroma is slightly sweet, roasty and malty with a slight coffee note and a touch of licorice. The flavor is slightly sweet and malty yet bitter and roasty with licorice notes and a nice roasted coffee finish. Full bodied and smooth yet dry.

Pours back with a moderate tan head. Aroma is strong and of caramel, coffee, and chocolate. The flavor is also chocolate, coffee, and caramel. The finish and aftertaste are a bit watery. Nice very sweet at first then the dry coffee bitterness takes over. Tastes a lot like a Caramel Mochino or whatever those starbucks drinks are called. Very nice at first but the more you drink the more you notice the initial over sweetness the over bitterness in the finish and the wateryness behind the rich flavor. Even with the flaws it is a beer I like and would recommend.
