| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 29, 2004 Pours a rich almost black color with a thin light tan head. Aroma is dry, roasty, and sweet. Nice balance and flavor profile in the body, but could've been a little sweeter and less dry. Has a lingering roasted malt finish. A decent stout, and very drinkable, but not over the top. ¾ (5003), Colorado, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 19, 2004 Ann and I opened this while camping along the Chetco river bank in SW Oregon. Poured this out with a nice fire going on the rocks, skywatching all night as we lay on the bank of the river. Oh man it was nice... the beer was quite good too, it had a musty nose of cocoa and chocolate, the oats were evident, and the flavor was a hoppy and creamy brown malts with a nice bitter baker’s chocolate. Medium "stout" texture, thick and semi-sweet in the finish. BückDich (4857), McCall, Idaho, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 6, 2005 Bottle: Double black color, rich tan head, thick lacing. Nose of lactic nugget, caramel (not the malt, the REAL stuff). Smoky and pleasent. The flavor is lightly salty and astringent but remains creamy, rich and roast. Hops don’t play much of a hand but some astringency mixes well with the molasses sweetness. Finishes creamy, lightly milky, tangy. Excellent. DocLock (4648), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA
