Very hoppy aroma, with roasted malt, coffee and alcohol. Very roasty flavor, with a lot of lactose sourness, some coffee, apple, and cherry. Very creamy feel with medium carbonation and a fairly dry hoppy fnish. loweredsixth (942), Fresno, California, USA

The aroma was heavy on the hops...burnt bread, ashes, roasted coffee beans, cherries. The flavor was more chocolaty...burnt bread, cherries, roasted coffee. The feel was ultra smooth, thick, and creamy...very nice...somewhat dry finish. JCW (1262), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA

Dark brown color, opaque, with a big(for an IMP) head. Aroma has alot of roasts smells, hops(piney) and sweet malt. The aromas all go together well. Flavor is fairly sweet, with slight hop bitterness. Moderate body for an Imp Stout. Balanced finish. Thanks Flipbrewer for this one! aracauna (2391), Georgia, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 18, 2004 Not perfectly black, you can see brown light around the extreme edges, but it's dark enough not to count off for. The head is a nice medium brown soup foam, but thin and quick to fade into a weather pattern. A very rich malty aroma with some fruit aroma. Low hop presence. There's a lot of fig in the flavor. I can almost feel the tiny seeds in the fig preserves my mom makes from the fig tree in our yard next to the cannaa lillies. It's sweet, almost a little too sweet as it edges on cloying. This mild bitterness in the back keeps it just on this side of the line, though. Still, that figgy flavor makes it pretty interesting. unclebleen (620), California, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 14, 2004 Pours a beautiful black opaque color with a small chocolate head. What a great hop aroma this one has! Malt, hops, coffee, plums in the taste. Some wine-like qualities. Very rich and creamy body. Alcohol is noticable on the swallow but is welcomed in the robust brew. Also, nice bitterness develops after the swallow. Very impressive Imperial Stout. Eyedrinkale (3209), Astoria, New York, USA

Nice roasted malt taste followed by warm, smooth coffee. They ought to put this in those Guinness cans. Yummy! bb (2930), Martinez, California, USA

This is a very creamy beer with a subtle roasty taste. A little sharp on the tongue, but all that oatmeal creaminess covers it up well. Very creamy and smooth and hides the alcohol well. I got tired of it, but a friend liked it more than I did. Jokes (1453), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 15, 2003 Super dark brown with a thick, lacing, cocoa brown head. Fairly strong pine aroma with bitter coffee and strong chocolate notes. Full bodied with semi-sweet chocolate. The flavor is sweet and spread across both chocolate and dark, ripe fruits. There is a presence of unassuming alcohol as well. Flavorful and easy to drink. A well-made, tasty brew.
