| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 7, 2006 Bottle from some generous Ca. trader some time ago. Showing a bit of oxidation in nose, a touch of cardboard and soy, some smoke?? Full black colored with a smallish light brown head. Mild lacing left behind. Medium bodied, lower carbonation level. Moderate roasted grain presence, some coffee and cocoa remain amongst the soy. Chocolatey notes in finish along with a still present hop bitterness. Decent, probably better fresh and not with the abuse this particular bottle may have been subject to. cbkschubert (2023), Cochise Co., Arizona, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 30, 2006 Black color with a very light tan head that fades quickly. Pleasant roasted malt aroma. Usual heavy malt - chocolate flavor. Has a lingering malt aftertaste. Good hop bitterness backing. Smooth, medium to full body beer. Very nice. apoptosis (1316), Long Island, New York, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 20, 2006 Thanks to notalush for the taste of his beer...Thick, dark body, tan head - typical Imperial Stout style. The flavor is slightly sour and a little yeasty and odd, though, as though they used wild yeast in this one. Pleaseant, vanilla, roasted-malty aroma is inviting. Very creamy and thick. notalush (2691), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 20, 2006 Thanks to herbjones for the bottle - pours nearly opaque with a slight tan head - aroma of lactose, brown sugar and coffee - flavor is medium sweet, with a lactic presence and even a hint of minerals - roastiness early, quickly making room for the sweetness - some hops in the finish, along with some fig/raisin flavor - a servicable imperial stout. beeryum (652), Norcross, Georgia, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 17, 2006 Draft at PP Strong Ale Fest ’05. Or maybe a bottle someone brought. Didn’t write where it came from in my notes. Opaque black pour. Dark roasty coffee and chocolate aromas, just a touch of fruit. Roasty coffee and chocolate flavors, fruit more present - some raisins. Smooth and drinkable without being syrupy thick. GG (1678), NorCal, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 7, 2006 Very enjoyable imp. stout, and a style that I tend to gravitate towards. This one doesn’t dissapoint with a nice aroma of coffee and chocolate notes along with a sublte roastiness that makes you grin. Definitely medium-bodied, not chewy at all. Flavor comes at you with bitter chocolate, vanilla, toffee and roasted coffee notes. Warms you up nicely on a cold winter evening. jimbowood (979), Athens, Georgia, USA
