| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 27, 2005 Poured a very dark brown. Coats the glass with a thin brown oily film. Roasted malty aroma smelled quite a bit like the seasoning they put on smoke house almonds. Flavor was sweet of roasted malt with just a slight soy sauce taste. Nice hop finish. axilla (962), New Providence, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 10, 2004 12.10.04 Bomber bottle thanks to loweredsixth. Nearly black beer with thin tan head. Aromas are molasses sweet and sharpness is betrayed with a slight nasal burn from alcohol and hops. California style impy all the way, this brew is not letting me down. Deep and roasty, not much fruit. Plenty of coffee, caramelized grapefruit, burnt hazelnut. Could be fuller bodied for an imperial but the solid alcohol presence makes up for that pretty well. Very nice brew. Thanks, Joe! bu11zeye (5697), Frisco, Texas, USA
