Commercial Description:
Our full-bodied red ale called Paint The Town Red. It joins our IPA as a beer that we'll always produce. It is quite hoppy (what else?) and gets its flavor from generous additions of Cascade hops and crystal malts.

Bottled. Clear ruby, small creamy head. Big grapefruity hop aroma. Clean, fairly hard mouthfeel. Some cookie malt behind a curtain of aromatic hops. Finishes with lychees and medium bitterness.

(Bottle) Pours a deep amber body with a small beige head. Aroma of grapefruit, caramel, light roastiness, and light pine. Flavor of mild citrusy hops and toffee with a watery mouthfeel. A typical pedestrian amber.

Misty bronze color, tan head, lots of lacing. Nose of nice medicinal hops, creamy, sharp and sweet with some creamy anisette notes. The flavor is richly malty with some candy cane sweetness. Light bitterness. Finishes with a tangy mouthfeel. Clean but fairly average.

Strong and pleasan citrus hop aroma backed by a hint of malt. Deep hazy reddish apricot color with a beige head that stays around. Starts with citrus, followed by some harsh malt, followed by a cleansing bitterness. Medium mouthfeel that thins with exposure. Enough malt to qualify as an amber, enough hop to qualify as an IPA. I think the West Coast is raising the bar on hop content. Good stuff.

Bomber purchased at Johncy’s in North Liberty, IA. Dark red and copper body with a frothy khaki head. The aroma is light grapefruit and walnuts. There is also some old worn out basketball shoe funk in it. The taste is strong citrus with some slightly salted grapefruit juice. There is also a strong toffee finish. Interesting, but nothing special.

The beer poured a clear deep amber color with a small beige head. the aroma had piney and grapefruity hops with candy sweet malt. Sweaty hops appeared as well. The flavor was a mix of sweet fruity malt and piney hops with a dash of citrus. Medium bodied.
