jimbowood (947), Athens, Georgia, USA Jun 27, 2009 Draft at the pub. A Hoppy red ale. Very nice. Their best offering. Me likey. mj (4971), Colorado, USA Apr 27, 2009 Draft @ Green Dragon. Clear medium dark amber. Stenchy sweaty nose of oily and biscuity pils malt and some dense burnt pear scented hops. Similar flavor, oily, moderately thick, some charred pear, some caramel, some sweaty hop cones. Medium bitterness. Not bad. Beardface (977), Eugene, Oregon, USA Mar 21, 2009 Tap at Hopworks and then again at the Moon and Sixpence. Healthy amber pour with a lingering two finger white head. Nice balance in the nose between a citrus hop and a biscuity malt smell. Flavor is all over the place with some dark fruit, caramel, spices and a mild booze kick. Tasty brew, one of my favorites from HUB. raphael (410), Portland, Oregon, USA Nov 19, 2008 on tap at mickey fin’s. full hoppy aroma--pie, strawberry, flowers, & caramel. Medium amber with clear white head that lingers. hops taste sharper than they smell, grapefruity, emphasized by a bitter herbal flavor. light in body while full in the mouth blueturk (68), Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA Mar 26, 2008 Tap at HUB. Poured a brilliant amber/copper in color with low head. Slight sweetness with some alcohol notes and spices. Very tasty. troopie (848), USA Dec 21, 2007 Draught. Poured rugy red with thin fast dissipating white head. Not much nose, a bit of flowers and a bit of citrus. Thinnish body with some malt and alcohol. Thin finish. I had expected much better. beerinmarch (2781), Alabama, USA Dec 8, 2007 On tap at the PDX Green Dragon. Pours ruby/copper with a soft white head. Big floral hop nose with a citrus grapefruit character. The malts were not the focus of this one, this fell into that new holiday big IPA trend that is going on. Very well built, fruity and bitter. Enjoyable all around. Angeloregon (2024), Portland, Oregon, USA Nov 21, 2007 Bronzy, tawny body with a rich creamy white head. Hoppy, sweet malted nose. Clean and fruity, yet spicy and robust. Awesome holiday brew.
