On Cask @ Horse Brass Pub poured into Shaker glass. Pours a deep onyx black, nice and glossy, with a creamy, frothy mocha colored head that never fully dissolves and eventually forms a pretty heavy layer atop the glass. The aroma is mostly roasted malts, vanilla and some chocolate. The flavor is much of the same although with more of a chocolate presence and a noticeable bitterness that lasts and becomes sweet. Its a full to medium bodied beer that is velvety which would most likely be because of the cask conditioning. Very delicious beer and easy to drink considering the 8% ABV.

Draught. Poured deep brown iwht off white head. Malty aroma, with a bit of oil and chocolate. Malty flavour, with chocolate and roast notes. A little bit of oil as well, that went away as the beer warmed. Lingering roast finish

Draft at the brewery. Dark brown color with red light at the bottom. Nose is rich chocolate and chocolate cream, wonderfully fresh and dense and deep, with notes of milk chocolate, cake, light roast, etc. Smooth and medium body, just a little lactic in the finish, but otherwise a really tasty porter.

On tap at HUB in Portland--Very dark black-brown body with a handsome off-white head. Quite carbonic with a crispy, toastiness. Big on the malts but not overdone or too sweet. Piquant hops give it a quality of somewhere between a porter and a stout. I loved everything about this beer except the price $5 for 16 ounces at the source. Tasty beer nonetheless.

Taster - Hopworks Urban Brewery - Portland, OR
Aroma – Rich Porter aromas with a good dark mal nose.
Appearance – Brown in color, Nice light head and clear.
Flavor – Loved the flavor of this beer. Dark malts with a tad of floral hops for flavoring this was a great malt build.
Palate – Nice Mouthfeel, great texture with an awesome porter finish.
Overall – Loved this beer. Great flavors. The Stout stands out but this beer has a unique flavor with the added floral hops and dark malts. Will get this beer next time in a growler for more drinking while home.
