Aroma is floral over roasted malt. Medium body with frothy carbonation. Flavor is fruity, malty, definitely bitter. Then in the end it’s really bitter. A good drinkable ale. A bit of sweetness up front, but pretty much gone in the finish. BMan1113VR (2946), Los Angeles (and Dallas), Texas, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 27, 2008 On tap at the PDX Green Dragon. Described as a double red ale by the bartender. Pours a deep rich red, very clear, with a soft off-white head. Very fruity hop aroma, floral and crisp. Not sure on the abv on this, but extremely sessionable. The hops just boast their pacific NW street cred, saying "love me or move back to Molson country jerk". All around solid beer, balanced in that PNW sense. ChainGangGuy (2613), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 3, 2009 Appearance: Pours out a clear, dark amber body layered with a sudsy, white head.
Smell: Aroma smelling of caramel-coated malts, hints of toast, hints of bread, citrus fruits, spicy herbs, and just a touch of standard pine.
Taste: Malty beginning with bready, faintly grainy tastes and a decidedly candied caramel sweetness. Hops display citrus, pine, and an earthy herbal quality as well as even a hint of spiciness. Medium-high bitterness present. Some additional fruitiness lurking within. Finishes bittersweet.
Mouthfeel: Just a hair above medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.
Drinkability: A bit reminiscent of Stone’s Arrogant Bastard and Terrapin’s Big Hoppy Monster, but that could just as easily be the deranged thoughts of a alcohol-ravaged mind. A nicely bold brew that offers plenty of malts, hops, and satisfying booze. unclemattie (2439), Georgia, USA

Aroma – Nice malt and hops balance in the nose.
Appearance – Golden yellow in color, Nice head and clear.
Flavor – Easy drinking Ale with a good flavor nicely balanced.
Palate – Nice Mouthfeel, great texture with a good dry finish.
Overall – A very nice everyday beer for the masses. There was plenty of flavor and some can get the floral flavors and not to over powering in any one area.
