HUB does a great job and the use of authentic Saaz make this a fine beer to taste.

Fruity hop nose of melon and lemon citrus. Wet on the palate, medium bodied, some light coarseness in the back, and some plastic grain twang in there as well. Okay but nothing like true Czech pils. pereyod (1), Portland, Oregon, USA does not count | 5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 20/20 | May 7, 2008 This beer is the closest I’ve found to an American brewery brewing a true czech style pilsner. They use true saaz hops, pilsner malts and yeast. The nose has a strong saaz aroma similar to Bernard but with a cleaner smell. The lacing is almost more distinct than Budvar and the taste is crisp and flavorful with a strong hop character though not overpowering the malts so a balance still exists. This lager was packed with a great mouthful that actually was satisfying to drink. Lots of flavors of grains and malt which complimented the dry hop finish nicely. Simplistic and enjoyable. oregoniansteve (1), Portland, Oregon, USA does not count | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 19, 2008 Love the fact that you can get an organic lager that you can actually taste. It’s was on tap at the Waypost on North Williams in Portland.
