They use true saaz hops, pilsner malts and yeast. The nose has a strong saaz aroma similar to Bernard but with a cleaner smell. The lacing is almost more distinct than Budvar and the taste is crisp and flavorful with a strong hop character though not overpowering the malts so a balance still exists. Truly a fine pilsner as recongnized by the world beer cup 2008 gtox (4), Vancouver, Washington, USA does not count | 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Jun 17, 2008 I can’t get enough of this one. HUB does a great job and the use of authentic Saaz make this a fine beer to taste.

Aroma of grassy hops, a lovely complex bready graininess, slight dry, champagne-like fruitiness. Flavor has a juicy fruitiness with increasing grain complexity and a heap of bitterness from the hops. An in-your-face, but at the same time subtle and complex pils. oregoniansteve (1), Portland, Oregon, USA does not count | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 19, 2008 Love the fact that you can get an organic lager that you can actually taste. It’s was on tap at the Waypost on North Williams in Portland. beerinmarch (2829), Washington, USA

Crisp hop nose, spicy and floral abundance. This was one of the better pilsners i’ve had in town, crisp on the palate, excellent compliment to most foods. Angeloregon (2036), Portland, Oregon, USA

Nose of bready malts and fresh fruity hops. A PNW take on the Czech Pils. Lots of floral notes and chewy malt character. I loved the amalgum of the two worlds’ brew styles. Very very nice beer! | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 28, 2008 after much confusion, those of us who trued both the pale and the lager figured out that the woman behind the taps at the KLCC brewfest mixed up the handles for the entire day, thus everyone who had the lager thought it was too hoppy and everyone who had the pale thought it was weak and malty (to her defense the handles did look identical)...
golden hue, clear, frothy white head, mild (quite subtle) hop bitters, both in the nose and the flavor, very well done lager, cheers! daknole (3031), Scottsdale, Arizona, USA
