Aroma bubbling with tangy citrus (including lemon), slightly more subtle herbal-grassy notes. Flavor continues to be a waterfall of hop goodness, so tangy and juicy. While hop-centric, the hopping is absolutely flawless with no harshness, instead just uber-tanginess and juiciness. An absolute joy. troopie (892), USA
| 4.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Oct 26, 2007 Draught. White head with cloudy orange body, much lacing. Lekker hoppy aroma. Piney with much hoppiness, citrus in body and finish. As fine an IPA as you’ll find kenb (1100), Oregon, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Jun 12, 2009 Updated: Aug 29, 200922 oz bottle from Hagen. Pours a semi-hazy amber with a huge beige head. Leaves lots of lacing as it dissipates. Nose is a nice fruity hoppy bouquet. Taste is pineapple, tangerine, grapefruit with a strong orangepeal finish. This sits nicely on a toffeeish malt body. Has a piney aftertaste. Body is quite full for an IPA, bordering on IIPA territory. Carbonation is perfect with not too much fizz. I hate overly fizzy IPA’s and they got this one just right. One of the best IPA’s i have tasted. Definately the best organic. Absolutely world class. CapFlu (3483), Victoria, British Columbia, Canada
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Sep 26, 2009 (Draft) Sampled at GCBF 2009 in Victoria on September 9, 2009. Great fresh hops. Very orange. Great tart PNW, wow. Other breweries take note - this is what an IPA should taste like. 9/5/9/4/18 Angeloregon (2025), Portland, Oregon, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Jun 11, 2007 Poured a tawny golden copper color with a bustling white head. Sharply bitter, but not overly so. Crisp and fairly balanced for the style (PNW IPA). British ale flavor in delicious finish. If this is what Hopworks is about, I want more now! | 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 1, 2009 Appearance: Pours a clearish, amber-hued body with a nicely-sized, dense, long-lasting, whitish head. A very lovely looking India Pale Ale.
Smell: Lightly grainy, lightly caramelly malts surrounded by pleasantly fragrant aromas of pithy, juicy citrus fruits, cut field grasses, and light pine.
Taste: Sweetish upfront malts with a touches of caramel and grains cross the tongue before you’re catapulted into the hops. Vibrant hop flavors of tangerine, white grapefruit, pine resin, and even an underlying leafy grassiness. Staunch, medium-high bitterness. Finishes appropriately dry and bitter.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. Slight oiliness to the mouthfeel.
Drinkability: A fine IPA! If you do not both enjoy the hell out of this, then you have serious problems, and will never truly enjoy anything, and I despise you. ¾ (4999), Colorado, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 7, 2008 Draft at the brewery in Portland. Hugely pungent + fresh hop nose - big Cascade and Amarillo, fresh, green, dank, awesome. Grassy cannabis and fresh, vivid, dry-hopped character, straight hops, pure, assertive but not caustic or corrosive. Peppery but smooth. Awesome pure hop bomb. jimbowood (956), Athens, Georgia, USA
