Commercial Description:
Kentucky Christmas is an organic AbominabAle Winter Ale aged on freshly emptied Kentucky Bourbon barrels. It features a floral, spicy and citrus hop aroma backed by a complex, yet subtle, fruity hop flavor and just the right amount of malt sweetness. This beer will have your whistling "Dueling Banjos" in no time!

5oz Taster - Fred Fest 2008 - Hair of the Dog Brewing - Portland OR
Aroma – Strong ale aroma with good malt and a slight fruit background.
Appearance – Dark Amber in color, little to no head and clear.
Flavor – A very strong flavor this was a great beer. Loved the oak and bourbon flavor this beer gave off.
Palate – Great Mouthfeel, good texture with a dry finish.
Overall – Deep rich oak and bourbon flavor this was one of the best beers for the day.

Tap at HUB. Poured a brilliant amber/copper in color with low head. Very similar to the abominable (since it’s essentially the same beer) Slight sweetness with more alcohol notes and spices. Bourbon flavor very faint. A great beer.

At 2007 Winter Ale Festival in Portland, Oregon--Poured a murky orange and tawny body with a medium-sized lacing whitish head. Musty earthy fruity robust nose. Well carbonated and nicely rounded. Finished creamy and bitter. Very subtle bourbon flavors. Very enjoyable!

On Tap a Holiday Ale Festival...Tasty brew from HUB, I was pleased with the ease of drinkability. Orange amber, floral nose with a bit of tickle of malt and sweetness. Tasty brew I hope to find outside of the festival.

On tap at the Holiday Ale Fest 2007. Very solid winter beer, shows that this brewery will be quality. Lightly toasty malts, doughy and fruity, crisp hops in the finish, with spicy orange character. The bourbon doesn’t take over, milder, adding a soft sweetness that gives more depth to the malt flavor.
