Beardface (977), Eugene, Oregon, USA Aug 20, 2009 Tap at Bier Stein. Poured out a cola brown with a light tan head. Aroma of earthy hops and some hefty caramel malts. Flavor pretty much the same, has a hefty malt finish. I don’t know that I’d call this an IPA, but am not 100% sure where I’d categorize it. Either way it was a decent enough beer. beersearcher (197), Glendale, California, USA Jul 5, 2009 First off, the name really doesn’t work for me. Cola colored. Has a bit of an oil smell. Perhaps too much of one type of hops? Hoppy and bready mixture. stchloe (473), Portland, Oregon, USA Jun 30, 2009 My favorite beer at NAOBF ’09. Its dark, superbly hopped into an earthy drink. good ABV and the resin qualtiy just lasts. When I can taste the beer in my nose, then its a good one. boFNjackson (1233), Portland, Oregon, USA Jun 28, 2009 Tap from Organic Brewers Fest... Poured deep brown with an off-white head. Hoppy, wood-like aroma. A little acidic but a nice hoppy tone. A little bit of toasty malts. Sweet, bread-like finish.
