imdownthepub (3826), Banbury, Oxfordshire, Oxfordshire, England May 10, 2008 Cask conditioned at Banbury Beer Fest ’08. Copper colour with slight head. Big honeyed caramel flavour with butterscotch, a little too flabby with honey sweetness thrown in. Some light hop in the finish, but not my sort of beer.
fonefan (4000), Ulfborg, Denmark Jun 21, 2008 Cask gravity @ Reading Beer Festival 2008. Clear medium amber orange color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, caramel, moderate hoppy, citrus - orange, buttery notes. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat. Bit buttery, not great. Bit of biscuit and bitterness, but the butteryness puts me off. thewolf (3200), Kolding, Denmark Apr 24, 2008 Cask @ The Wenlock Arms, London.
Pours a wonderful golden amber with a small bubbly white head. Aroma has caramel, subdued soft hops. Low carbonation, and a bit thin. Flavour is rather sweet, good caramel and light dry hops. Didn’t really strike a chord with me.
