| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 29, 2009 Picked up a single 12-oz bottle via trade with JPDIPSO. Pours a semi-hazy golden straw brew with a lumpy white head that has some nice retention and sticky lacing. Aroma of light yeast, some golden grain malt with wheat, some light pineapple and pear. Taste is medium bodied, some carbonation with flavors of coriander, some orange zest, golden grain malt with wheat, citrus seed and a hint of corn grits. Finish is semi-sweet with a light orange/peach aftertaste that quickly disappears. Almost closer to a sweet light wit than a saison. 1FastSTi (2579), Glendale, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 20, 2009 Tap at the horny goat hideaway. The beer pours to a cloudy straw colored body with a nice white head. Decent but spotty lacing throughout the drink. The aroma had simple grains and subtle saison character. The flavors consisted of nice pale grain and subtle saison-like hopping and bready yeasts. Lemons and straw. I thought this beer was super simple to drink and much better than the ratings are giving it. Perhaps it doesn’t translate well into bottles? Bockyhorsey (2552), Mesa, Arizona, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 29, 2009 Wife boght this one for me. Decent aroma with some spiey notes but mainley burnt barley oats. Hazy gold body with white head. Flavor wasn’t hat bad had a zesty citrus to it along with some spice and carbination. A sweet spice dryness lingers a bit for aftertaste. Decent brew. | 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Sep 21, 2009 Bottle with twist off cap. I’m a little bitter and jaded after my last two "Horny Goat" experiences, so I’m not going into this with a truly open mind. Body is a hazy gold with a thin head and aromas are a little dubious... a bit of cloves and lemons, and in the background is a landfill-type aroma that I’m beginning to associate with the label. Still, the landfill scent is faint enough that there is some hope. Flavor is some form of redemption for the brand... it isn’t great and has a distinctly adjunct side to it, but it does have a bit of niceness to it. A bit of lemon and some faint cloves, a honey sweetness... It is watery and washed out, but not awful... this is the best Goat. Beerman6686 (1292), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA

| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Oct 21, 2009 Pours a cloudy yellow color with small white head. Aroma has some citrus, malt and some spicy & grainy notes. Taste is dry, a little alcohol, some corn & wheat, lemon, very little sweetness. On the watery side. Interesting...this is the second Saison I’ve had and the style is odd to me...seems like it’s a spiced wheat beer only they take away all the sweetness. It is refreshing but seems bland. hickey (32), Georgia, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | May 31, 2009 This is a pretty poor example of a saison for the nearly $9 dollar price tag. The beer pours a cloudy, pale golden color with a di minimus head. The body is light on the palate and the flavor complex lingers only briefly. It drinks more like gatorade than anything else.
I only detect a minor citrus flavor that other posts speak of. The wheat malt is the dominating flavor.
try it if you like, but for the price, there are far superior saison style beers available in the area.
