Commercial Description:
This style of beer is classified as an American Wheat Ale, not to be confused with the German unfiltered version - Hefe Weizen. The focus is on the wheat used during the brewing process. Our version is filtered and slightly "off the beaten path" with a dry "hoppy" finish.

Bottle. Pours clear golden yellow with a white head. Lightly sweet aroma with a hint of wheat and a hint of lemon. The flavor has a light sweetness, with light lemony citrus and some wheaty notes. Simple, but very refreshing and drinkable.

(Rating #2189)

In short: A clean, basic, true-to-the-style but above average wheat beer. Highly drinkable.
How: Bottle 22oz. Consumed fresh soon after purchase. Tasting session with Montreal crew.
The look: Clear golden-yellow body topped by a very small white head
In long: Light nose of cereals/wheat with notes of peaches and bananas. Body is loaded with hay/wheat, light honey touch, a light lemony tartness, some garden flowers. The smooth carbonation is very fitting. There’s not a lot a brewer can do when remaining true to this style so this is a simple beer but a highly drinkable one. Above average for this simple style. Horseheads white men brewing nice Iroquois fire water.

Pale golden pour with minimal haze, but a more than honest white cover. Fairly active carbonation does not hamper its clean, inviting aroma where fresh wheat and soft biscuity, creamy cereals engage you into consumption. The carbonation is highly engaging, while the wheat refreshes. This is done with precision and deserves a markmanship award for its subtlety and restriction, though it likely won’t win any prize at all, being just honest and directly good at what it does.

My Bottom Line:
Doughy cereals and delicate citrusy hoppiness conjure up a crisp and quenching body for this expertly done American Wheat Ale.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A slim film of foam tops the clear gold.
-The hoppiness gets herbal in the flavor profile and in the finish.
-This is exactly the kind of beer to show you how thorough their brewing and bottling process is. And this beer is as clean as they get.
-The overall flavor profile is very simple, but all is well presented and easy to drink.

Bottle.

growler. smooth drinking, nothing spectacular but a nice easy drinking solid beer. not a lots of hops just a bit of dryness at the finish. I’ll get another.
