Commercial Description:
This style of beer is classified in the "California Common" category. The focus is on the special lager yeast brewed at a warmer ale temperature, thus creating a medium bodied malty beer with an assertive hop presence. Our version of this beer honors the Lackawanna Railroad which put our Chemung Canal out of business. This beer is also perfect for the hot and humid days of summer.

(bottle - 22 oz) Clear amber pour with a fizzy white head. Aroma is sweet corn, dry hops, and some light malts. Flavor begins sweet and zesty with a very nice and bitter hop middle that quickly goes back to sweetness. Bitterness doesn’t last long. Drinks easy and really refreshing.

Bomber with no date, but kind of late given this is a summer seasonal. Admittedly amatuerish label. Pours amber-orange with decent head. Body is what you’d expect for a lager. Nice malt backbone, some lager hops (not gonna guess). As expected, ale like qualities. I agree with the review which identifies mineral qualities (hard water?). I probably like this more than Anchor Steam, but i don’t like that all that much.

22oz Bottle purchased at the Finger Lakes Beverage Center - Ithaca, NY. Flickr(http://www.flickr.com/photos/26049401@N Guava and salted melon pilsener malt and lager yeast aroma. Heavy on the minerals. Pours a brilliant ochre orange-brown, very clear, with a super-soft, fluffy mid-khaki head, lacing thick. Flavor is well-rounded and rich. Chewy, raisiny malt backed with an ancient, somber yeast figure. A great mineral profile rises to some nice pilsener malt, a nip of caramel, and a long, sweet run of snappy bright yellow hops. This is delicious! I would like a nip more carbonation and a slight bit more yeast character. In general, I think California Common is an under-appreciated style and a well-done version is really enjoyable. This is just a really solidly brewed warm lager, with beautiful malting, clean hopping and dry balance. Impressive.

Sweet corn and yeasty aroma. light amber in color with a quickly disappearing white head. mmmm… sweet and tangy. Caramel and cream with soft hop perfuminess. Very full mouthfeel. interesting ale-like finish. A very interesting lager - drinks like an ale. Tasty.

Bottle. Pours copper orange with an off white head. Pale malty aroma, slightly toasty with a floral hop hint. The flavor is well balanced with lightly sweet caramel malts, a touch of toast and some floral hops. Not bad.
