Aroma of toasty malts, rye, and fruity hops (apricot and pineapple). Firm bitterness followed by spicy rye and some light caramel malt notes. Finishes with flavors of grapefruit zest and piney hops. Not bad. zach8270 (2115), Henrietta, New York, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 6, 2009 (bottle - 22 oz) Amber pour with a fizzy white head. Aroma is a nice mixture of caramel malts and spicy, floral hops. Some nice citrus and pepper makes its way through. Flavor begins with a smooth and sweet caramel flavor with a very nicely balanced and apparent peppery hop middle. Some apple sweetness comes through at the end with a very nice and dry rye finish. Crisp and rather chewy. jah noth (1017), Rochester, New York, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Sep 19, 2009 Candy apple and fuggle-smelling hops in the nose. Brilliant light golden amber in color, very clear, with a thick and rocky head - some lacing. Very clean. Succulent English hoppiness crisply dances on the tongue, combining with a soft maltiness - not overly sweet or caramelly, really done well, with a bready rye-spicy finish. Subtle yet complex, this beer is a true pleasure. This is a pale ale I could drink all the time. Very well done. yobdoog (1460), Woodridge NY, New York, USA
