Eyedrinkale (3091), Beer Town, New York, USA Apr 27, 2008 Bomber. I hate to start my next 1,000 ratings with a shitty beer but that’s the way it goes. This stuff pours with a small head and the band-aid aroma isnt a very good start. The palate is thin, the malts taste like extract and the hops taste stale. I had to look twice to make sure this wasn’t a homebrew. Undrinkable.
alexsdad06 (554), Ohio, USA Jul 12, 2008 Sample from a bomber @ DLD. Pours black with a small beige head. The aroma has some roasted malt, but it is overtaken by vegetables and freshly opened band-aids. The flavor has mild roasted malt, dust, bitterness that comes from ??, and stale coffee. This is thin, watery, and just not very good. This was the first beer I sampled at DLD. I am happy things got better from there. Morts5 (1), Newtown, Connecticut, USA does not count May 17, 2008 This is my fisrt posting on this site and I disagree whole heartedly with ’Eyedrinakale’. I love this beer. I travel into this area from out of state a least monthly and after having found this gem of a brewery about 7 months ago, I stop here regularly and bring back home with me 10 to 15 growlers of the Sullivan Stout and the Newtown Brown. For me, this stout is about a perfect as it could be, Everyone of the 10 to 12 people I bring the Stout back for love it and say it’s the best stout they’ve had.
Out of the growler it pours almost ink black with a nice not too foamy head that lasts about 5 minutes. The flavor is rich with roast malt and has more body than Guineess Extra Stout.
The beer is for take away only. Sold only in growlers and bottles. Brewbie (116), New York, USA Jan 12, 2008 growler. brown foamy head over a deep dark rich back color. bit of roasted coffee and chocolate in the aroma. smooth, easily drinkable.
